Insufficient storage and crashes during patching 24/6/19

Trying to play on iPhone 15 Pro and despite having more than enough storage space and hardly any other apps installed, the game randomly decides I don’t have enough storage space. It will download between 2 and 6 GB of data when I start even though it has already downloaded and if it does finish, the game always hard freezes when attempting to install the patch.
